Maastricht, March 15, 2025 – As part of the Night of Classical Music festival at the Maastricht Conservatorium, pianists Jiayi Li and Shenandoah Berghuis will present a unique and immersive solo piano recital, “Dreams in Sound and Vision,” on March 15 at 9:15 PM in the Jeker Room.

This special performance will not only showcase solo piano masterpieces but also incorporate visual projections synchronized with the music, creating a multi-sensory storytelling experience. By blending sound and imagery, the concert will transport audiences into a dreamlike world, enhancing the emotional depth and artistic expression of each piece.

Li Jiayi:

jiayi li is a Director of China Social Art Association, Honorary Director of Xinjiang Music Education Association, . and she is Kawai invited performer,kurzweil invited performer. she won the NEW YORK Rondo YOUN ARTIST MUSIC competition 2nd place winner, and THE 7th NUOVA COPPA international in Italy Osimo 2nd place winner , she was Invited by the people's music publishing house to record the demonstration CD of the tenth set of electronic piano grading examination textbooks in China. Her concert experience spans over 20 cities across China and has been featured in over 50 Chinese media outlets. She was employed in the Mukam Art Troupe of the Xinjiang Art Theater to play the keyboard.

she is Expert judges of Mendelssohn international competition in Xinjiang, and  MTPC Talent Award Art Festival judges, and The Magnolia Art Festival, Xinjiang regional judge.

Jiayi Li is not only an accomplished pianist but also a highly regarded piano educator. She has been recognized with the Outstanding Teacher Award from the British Global Talent Musician Grand Prix (Global Genius Music Competition) and the Excellent Teacher Award from the U.S. International Open Music Competition. Her students have achieved remarkable success in international competitions, winning top prizes in the British Grand Prix Global Genius Music Competition, WPTA Finland International Piano Competition, and the Rising Stars Grand Prix in Berlin, among others. In 2022, her eight-year-old student, Wang Hongbin, was admitted to The Juilliard School. Under her guidance, students have earned gold medals, highest scores, and prestigious invitations from competitions in Vienna, Rome, and Milan, including the Piano Talents International Piano Competition in Milan, solidifying her reputation as an outstanding mentor in the field of classical piano.personal experience

At the age of 12, She was admitted to Center Music school of Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Russia-Moscow and studied piano under Professor Anatoly Rabove.

At the age of 16,She went to the United States for further study with Professor Brinsky of Manhattan School of Music. He then studied piano with American piano educator Professor Jerom Rose at the Manes school of Music. Currently, she is pursuing her master’s degree at the Maastricht Conservatorium, further refining her artistry and expanding her musical vision.

Shenandoah Berghuis:

She started her piano studies at the age of 12 and has gained extensive experience in orchestral and chamber music. She has collaborated with singers, string players, and hornists and played in a symphonic youth orchestra for 1.5 years. She has been recognized with incentive prizes at PianoFest (2019) and the Princess Christina Competition (2022). Currently, she is in her second year of the bachelor’s program at the Maastricht Conservatorium.

Bringing together virtuosic piano playing and immersive visuals, “Dreams in Sound and Vision” offers a unique performance that transcends traditional solo recitals.
