Authorities Call for Better Protection for Children and Wome
The General Office of the National Working Committee on Children and Women (NWCCW) under the State Council held a training session on anti-abduction for directors of county-level working committees on children and women in Changsha, central China's Hunan Province, from July 3 to 4.
Tan Lin, Member of the NWCCW under the State Council and Vice-President and Member of the Secretariat of the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), said in her speech that General Secretary Xi Jinping had given important instructions in his speeches on protecting the rights and interests of women and children, as well as promoting their all-round development.
Tan urged the working committees on children and women at all levels to follow the instructions and deployment of the CPC Central Committee, laying a solid defense for protecting women and children's rights and interests.
"We should accurately grasp the situation and task of anti-abduction and women and children's rights protection, fulfilling our responsibilities and obligations in a down-to-earth manner," Tan stressed.
Wu Guiying, Vice-Governor of Hunan Province and Director of Hunan Provincial Working Committee on Children and Women, along with Chen Shiqu, Deputy Director of the Criminal Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Public Security (CIBMPS), attended the class and delivered speeches.
The directors of working committees on children and women in 11 provinces and 51 counties, as well as heads of the offices of the working committees on children and women, participated in the training session.
Officers from the CIBMPS, representatives from the Center for International Cooperation and Protection against Human Trafficking affiliated to China University of Political Science and Law, as well as the Baby Back home volunteer association, gave lectures at the session.
Staff from 10 county-level working committees on children and women exchanged their ideas in their speeches.
